Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with her four brothers. The idea of being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials after moving to New York. Her first role as an actor was as a teen innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Delaney is well-known as an actress, appearing in many films, television shows, and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been successful and happy. In the past, this gifted actress was struggling to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fail. In 2005 she lost the custody of her only son.
