Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian music writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two notable covers that the singer has created. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. The endorsement earned her some attention. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to play music only to have fun or to aid in growing, but that she should pursue it. She began to write writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love for Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would not just help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their value within the global community and see what can be done with the songs and her music, she was inspired to start performing publicly. The piano was first played by her when she was just six and began writing music at the age of nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she was fourteen. Aurora's success was never the goal of her. Aurora claims she loves creating songs. For her, the music she composes is the way that she feels anything.
